Roble Negro started in 2018 thanks to the effort and dedicationo of Jorge Vasquez Ureña. After dedicating himself for more than 43 years to the cultivation and production of coffee. Jorge, his niece Daniela and nephew Alexander founded Roble Negro to continue with the family tradition and continue contributing to the development of specialty coffee. Roble Negro coffee is harvested on Jorge's farm, which is in Cedral Alto de Tarbaca, in Aserrí, about 25km from the capital. The property is on average 1,850 meters above sea level and because of its location it is cataloged within the area of Los Santos. The farm is distributed into areas that consist of primary and secondary forest, reforestation (600 cyprus trees), coffee plantations, paddocks, avocado plantation, a vegetable garden and ecological mill. The vision is to be recognized for producing and selling sustainable specialty coffee in both the national and international markets.
