This coffee is big with a lot of punchy acidity - orange and plum. Followed by some caramelized brown sugar sweetness and a pleasant lingering finish.

Nestled in Kirinyaga County on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya, the Nyanja Factory lies near the town of Kianaga. In Kenya, wet mills are commonly referred to as ""factories,"" and Nyanja is one of 12 such facilities operated by the Baragwi Farmers’ Cooperative Society (FCS). Established in 1953, the Baragwi FCS now represents 11,791 smallholder members, each cultivating coffee on their own individual farms. The cooperative provides crucial support to these farmers, including processing services at its network of factories, as well as agricultural training and extension services aimed at improving productivity and coffee quality.
The Process
At Nyanja Factory, freshly harvested coffee cherries are meticulously processed using the fully washed method, a technique known for producing clean, vibrant cup profiles. The factory sits at an altitude of 1,610 meters above sea level, a favorable elevation that contributes to the slow maturation of coffee cherries, enhancing the development of complex flavors.
